What the Bailén desk lists
- The certificado de registro UE, the green certificate of EU, EEA and Swiss residents
- Residence and non-residence certificates
- NIE certificates and the assignment of a NIE
- DNI/NIE concordance certificates
Opening hours
policia.es gives Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:15, plus Monday to Thursday afternoons from 17:00 to 20:00. Foreigner procedures go through the cita previa system, so read those hours as the window in which slots can fall rather than a time to drop by.
Reaching the office
Neither policia.es nor the Delegación del Gobierno gives directions to the office. Metrovalencia's station list shows a line 7 stop named Bailén, with one entrance on Calle de Bailén itself, opposite number 56. The office is at number 9 of the same street, so look up the walk on a map before you leave home.

Here in Valencia
If Calle de Bailén shows no slot for your trámite, other desks may: the comisarías of Burjassot, Mislata, Paterna, Quart de Poblet and Xirivella list NIE assignment too, and Alzira, Gandia, Ontinyent and Sagunt add the EU registration certificate. Our guide to the comisarías across the province lists each one, with its source.
Quick questions
Is Bailén what people mean by «extranjería Valencia»?
Partly. The phrase covers several offices: Bailén is the police desk for NIE numbers and EU certificates, permits to live here are settled at the government's Oficina de Extranjería, and TIE cards come from the Comisaría de Patraix.
Can I go to Bailén with a non-EU passport?
For a stand-alone NIE or one of the certificates it lists, yes. The TIE card of a non-EU resident is issued at Patraix instead.
Is there a phone number for the office?
policia.es lists 963 417 866. That is the line of the office itself, not ours.
