Empadronamiento Valencia: where to go
- The Oficina del Padrón Municipal on Plaza del Ayuntamiento, entrance on Periodista Azzati 2, open Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 14:00
- The Oficina de Atención Ciudadana in Tabacalera, Calle Amadeu de Savoia 11 (Nave Oeste)
- The Juntas Municipales that take padrón requests: Abastos, Trànsits, Marítim, Patraix, Exposició, Russafa, Pobles del Nord and Benimàmet-Beniferri
Booking your visit
Visits in person need a cita previa, booked on the municipal website or by phone on 010, 963 100 010 or 962 081 104. One appointment covers one person, unless you come as a family unit, and you bring the originals.
There is also an online route through the sede electrónica, with an electronic signature. Staff review online changes by hand, so they are not instant; you can follow the request in the Carpeta ciudadana.

The papers the Ajuntament asks for
- A valid ID for every adult: EU, EEA and Swiss citizens show a residence card, passport or national ID card (an EU registration certificate only alongside one of them); everyone else, UK citizens included, a TIE or a passport
- Proof of the home that carries its cadastral reference, or a paper showing it, such as the latest IBI receipt
- Owners: nothing more when you appear on the IBI bill; otherwise the deeds or a recent nota simple from the land registry
- Tenants: a contract in force for more than six months, signed by every party, plus the last rent receipt or transfer from the past two months
- Staying in someone else's home: the signed authorisation form, plus their ID and proof of their title to the home
- Papers in Spanish or Valencian, or a sworn translation; foreign public documents legalised or apostilled, except those from EU states
New in town
The city's Centro de Atención a la Inmigración, CAI-PANGEA, on Calle del Pozo, offers information and legal advice on immigration, a first-reception service for people who have just arrived and walk-in information from Monday to Thursday, 8:30 to 13:30. Its reports for arraigo applications are only for people on the Valencia padrón, by appointment.

Here in Valencia
Outside the city, each town keeps its own padrón, and Torrent, Paterna, Mislata, Burjassot or Alboraya each set their own process. In Valencia itself, the padrón office on Plaza del Ayuntamiento and the Juntas Municipales of Russafa, Patraix or Marítim all work by appointment, so pick the one closest to your new home.
Quick questions
Can I sign up before I have a NIE?
You can: the Ajuntament accepts a passport, or a TIE for non-EU residents who already hold one, and the number can be added to your record later.
Does the empadronamiento cost anything?
No. The Ajuntament states that every padrón procedure is free.
Is a short let enough?
Not in Valencia: the Ajuntament asks for a contract in force for more than six months, and month-to-month renewals are not accepted.
