Two ways in
You can apply at the Spanish consulate for your place of residence before you travel or, if you are already in Spain legally, file a residence application from here. The requirements cover your remote work arrangement, your professional background, your means and your health cover. They are set nationally and revised from time to time, so we always work from the current official list.
After approval, in Valencia
- Your NIE: the one on your visa or authorisation, or the one you already had
- Your padrón at the Ajuntament, useful for nearly everything that follows
- The TIE: a fingerprint appointment booked after you arrive, then the collection of the card
- Family members included in your application follow the same card steps
What we take care of
We focus on the Valencia side: the cita previa for fingerprints, the EX-17, the fee and the documents to bring, plus the empadronamiento. For the visa file itself, relocation support with AnchorLess can help you build it from the start.
Here in Valencia
Remote workers tend to settle in Ruzafa, El Carmen or by the sea in El Cabanyal, and their TIE is issued at the Comisaría de Patraix, which policia.es lists for card issuance. Book the fingerprint slot early: the window to apply for the card after you arrive is short.
Quick questions
Can I work for Spanish clients on this visa?
A limited share of your work may come from Spain under the rules, but the visa is designed for work done mainly for companies or clients abroad. Check the current conditions before you sign a local contract.
Is the golden visa an alternative?
Not any more: that investment route closed in 2025, so leave it out of your plans.
Do I need a NIE before I apply?
Not necessarily: the number can be assigned as part of the process. If you already have one, use it on every form so your records stay linked.
